pGLO Transformation

Image
Last week we learned so much about pGLO transformation and how to make broth and how to use micropipette. Which was a slow but fast learning process. We have not completed the process yet till this coming up Tuesday. But Micropipettes where very semi stress process at the beginning on how to hold it and the process of retrieving product and releasing product was difficult but with the practice helped a lot.

This week which I know it’s a little late having trouble on how to use blog. But I did a gram stain which did not turn as great as I wanted to. There was way too much crystal violet but I learned from my mistake but it’s still cool to see all the circle deinococcus aquatics. It’s a positive since it’s more purple and no signs of pink which will indicate that it was contaminated

This week I did my first gram staining procedure this specific bacteria is a deinococcus aquatics which is a gram positive and shaped more like rocks. After gram staining I learned new techniques like how to clean a microscope properly when using. Also, I learn on how to turn on a Bunsen burner.
